At the European Championship Georgian athletes demonstrated the best results: Lasha Talakhadze gained 3 gold, Anastasia Gottfried - 3 gold, Shota Mishvelidze - 2 gold and 1 silver, Revaz Davitadze - 2 gold and 1 silver, Irakli Turmanidze - 1 silver, Tatia Lortkipanidze – 1 bronze, Goderdzi Berdelidze - 1 bronze medals. Georgia has topped the medal table at the stated Championship.

“I would like to congratulate Georgian athletes over their victory on behalf of Rompetrol Georgia.  The fact of hosting the European Championship by Romania is especially pleasant for our company. For the last years we are actively supporting Georgian sportsmen, we are happy with their success and results which are being improved year after year. We consider an extent of diligent toil required for gaining such results and assess efforts of the whole Federation. I would like to congratulate the whole Georgia with this victory! We are proud of being active supporters of this kind of sport”, - states the General Director of the company Zamanbek Mirzayanov.

The European Weightlifting Championship was launched on March 26, and ended in April 1. Georgian athletes won 10 gold, 3 silver and 2 bronze medals. The Championship was closed by the Georgian hymn.
