KMG International CEO, Zhanat Tussupbekov, was elected as Vice President of the International Weightlifting Federation, during the Election Congress that took place in Bangkok, Thailand. The KMG International Group is the owner of “Rompetrol Georgia” and Zhanat Tussupbekov is the President of the Kazakhstan Federation of Weightlifting starting 2013.
Zhanat Tussupbekov held the position of chairman of the Marketing Commission of International Weightlifting Federation from 2015 to 2017, while from his role in the Kazakhstan Federation of Weightlifting he showed excellent results in coordinating the marketing activities for the Olympic Games in Rio. From 2016, he also supported the first international broadcasting of the Asian Weightlifting Championship.
At the same time, the policies implemented by Zhanat Tussupbekov from his position supported the development of sport activities in the countries where weightlifting needed support.
Separately high marks were awarded to the work carried out in Kazakhstan, namely the strengthening of the anti-doping discipline, involving children in sport activities and improving the conditions of training process.
Zhanat Tussupbekov has a solid professional experience in managerial positions, having spent the past 11 years in the oil and gas industry. Since May 2012, he is holding the position of Chief Executive Officer of KMG International N.V., being also a member of KMG International Board of Managing Directors. The company has registered record financial and operational results in the last years, being one of the most successful oil companies in Romania and one of the most important players in the Black Sea and Mediterranean regions. KMG International has been a constant supporter of Romanian, Georgian and Kazakh Weightlifting Federations.
